NOAH VALENTYN

The work of Artist/Actor Noah Valentyn is characterized by his exploration of the boundaries of our “being” as individuals and the individual in relation to the city and society. Whether it’s about the wildest dreams or the deepest emotions, Noah likes to put things into perspective. He makes his models timeless by using costumes adorned with accessories or in their purest form: human nudity. In doing so, he constantly shows us how closely we as humans are still connected to our own nature. The themes from mythology, the Greeks, and Romans are just as relevant to the modern human. However, we often no longer realize that and question ourselves too much.

EXHIBITION ‘DREAMS INCLUDED’

In his latest series, Noah Valentyn explores the boundaries of our existence. Where do we stand as individuals and to what extent are we all part of the same society and community? And when necessary, how do we position ourselves outside that society? When are we closest to ourselves, and how can we best protect and value ourselves?

His answer is clear: “In Your Dreams.” That’s where no one can touch you. That’s where you are who you are in the most essential state, in your wildest dreams. But sometimes with your greatest fears too. That’s where you can place yourself in the most beautiful and impossible fantasies, situations, and places. Where no one can tell you what is right or wrong. And where you can meet whoever you want, no matter how unreachable they may seem.

As a spectator, the sleeping human is the most unattainable. While you can still influence and judge each other’s behavior in the awakened state, nobody has control over someone else’s dreams. Every dream is exclusive to the dreamer. And in that sense, we are all equal.

Just like in dreams, Noah makes the impossible possible by using the latest techniques and mixed media. He explores the capabilities and desirability of technology in art. But it’s clear: he is in charge. Noah dictates and stays true to himself.

PULITZER HOTEL AMSTERDAM

The famed Pulitzer Amsterdam, long been associated with art, culture, and inclusivity, welcomes artist Noah Valentyn to open his exhibition during Pride Amsterdam 2023. The unique location within one of the twenty-five canal houses of the Pulitzer serves as a backdrop for Valentyn’s storied photographs.

Valentyn’s exhibition named “Dreams Included” provides a platform for individuals from all walks of life to engage with the stories and experiences depicted in the photographs.

Pulitzer Amsterdam and Noah Valentyn have a common purpose to share stories that should inspire and are here to stay. They have partnered to value individuality and self-expression.
